Welcome to Australia's Worst Journalist

Covers Newspapers, Books, Radio, and TVThe public and more particularly, the subject of a journalist's diatribe, have very few courses open to them to express their disagreement or displeasure with the article published in widely read publications, and then remaining on the internet for an indeterminate period.

This website has been set up to attempt to rectify this imbalance, and allow members of the public to vent their views.

Journalists are required to comply with a code of ethics, but in almost every case reported below, the journalist has breached this code in one or more ways by deliberately publishing factual errors, to which no named source is attributed, fabricating matters and being blatantly dishonest, being totally unbalanced and unfair when they have been given the true facts from their subject, but fail to publish these as an answer to the journalist's point of view.

In addition, many plagiarise the views of others so that the same factual errors are perpetuated.

Crikey - Dec 29, 2011

We welcome the new Year with superb nominations for Australia’s Worst Journalist, and the worst publisher.

Ben Sandilands excels as one of the most deserving nominees.  He falsely claims to be an expert in Aviation, but it is truly limited to the principle of rocket science.  Hot air – blown through his rear with faecal matter, which then forms the basis of Crikey the most sarcastic i-net publication which has no integrity, respect for the truth and is without credit seeing its sole purpose is to denigrate individuals regardless of the blatant falsities.

Jill Singer - Journalist

Herald Sun - Nov 30, 2011

Jill Singer has authored an article on Page 35, Herald Sun, November 30 which holds Dr Geoffrey Edelsten up to ridicule and contempt, and is in fact defamatory.  Singer does not know the Dr and her article is based upon media material which has not been properly researched, if at all.

Her effort is disgraceful, and her vitriol and sarcasm based on complete untruths has caused her to be voted one of Australia's Worst Journalists, see Australia's Worst Journalist Awards 2009 and Australia's Worst Journalist Awards 2010.

James Frost - Business Journalist

The Australian - Dec 29, 2011

A late but compelling entry for AWJ 2011 has come in. The so called "business journalist" James Frost at The Australian recently contacted one of our contributors for an interview with the intention to write a story to be published in The Australian newspaper. The terms and subject matter of the interview were agreed, points of order for the article were researched by James Frost and agreed to. From all accounts the interview went well.

Despite all of James Frost's representations both verbally and in writing he resorted to an inventive story, a cocktail of lies, manipulation of information, deliberately degrading the interviewees, the use of irrelevant photos that was promised would not be used, not performing relevant research, or ignoring such relevant research so as to bias the story.

The title 'business affairs editor" appears under his name, but his articles display an appalling lack of any business knowledge.  There is no doubt that despite his ability to confirm a proposed story as being factual, he is not disposed to do so.  This allows him to write a story embellished with incorrect facts, and worsened by ommission of explanations, which instantaneously destroys the foundation of the story.
