The Truth About Dr Geoffrey Edelsten

  • Oh dear Hannah, the “truth” would certainly be a great start, unfortunately you are way way off, FAKE NEWS, FAKE STORY, mix in a fact here and there and add a layer of bias and fantasy and you have a ‘Hannah Hempenstall Fake Story’ nay a Stacey Hicks (Editor-in-Chief of Who Magazine) hunting-ground sniping wonderland fake story.  Blew it, you didn’t even consult with the subject, but I did, and Dr Edelsten said to me this article is “defamatory, mendacious, untruthful, dishonest, deceitful, disingenuous, fraudulent, duplicitous, fictitious, fallacious, falsified, fabricated, invented, immoral and made up material”
  • Further you have copy/pasted, plagarised, so readers of Hannah Hempenstall and Stacey Hicks and Who Magazine articles are hereby put on notice.  Kerry Stokes Pacific Magazines (Owner of WHO Magazine) are you aware Stacey Hicks must be cutting costs so dramatically that her staff are only given the Google tool to do in-depth research, while Stacey as editor really has no excuses, come on PACIFIC MAGAZINES we all know google only sees other prominent media outlet articles that drive the same “what’s wrong” mercenary view.
  • Hannah Hempenstall and Stacy Hicks, your investigative journalism isn’t quite the ground breaking Walkleys award you were aiming for, but that’s ok, an AWJ Award should do you just nicely.  An Australia’s Worst Journalist award while not having all the trimmings is much rarer than a Walkley, so be proud, be humble, you are in good company, I mean rotten company as good for bad is the best of the worst. Congrats!
  • A word of warning to ‘Bauer Media Group’, your alleged purchase of WHO Magazine comes with it Hannah Hempenstall who writes fake news, fake stories, does not investigate, does not consult, a copypaster, a plagariser.  And here’s why…

Now this is going to be interesting… – by Hannah Hempenstall 28 Nov 2019

  • Yes Hannah, you got that right, if only it were the truth and not your fantasy, you see the real truth about Dr Edelsten is very interesting (you’re right about that), however when it’s faked up by you it is fantasy, and fake and fantasy when purporting to be an accurate source, well…Perhaps your title of the article should have been called “The Hannah Hempenstall Defamation of Dr Geoffrey Edelsten”.  But getting back to the real truth, oh, and the real truth is so much more interesting! Forceful judges, corruption within the government..You coulda had a real juicy story here Hannah Hempenstall, but you missed it, but who can blame you, no pun intended, you are limited by your own devices as mentioned earlier..
  • What is incredibly interesting is;
    • Dr Geoffrey Edelsten was wrongfully convicted
      • See: Police and Government officials illegal acquisition of evidence.
      • See: 2 Former Supreme Court Judges wrongful conviction evidence.
      • See: The trial judge pushed the trial forward despite it being based on illegal evidence.
      • See: The Federal government was not happy about Dr Geoffrey Edelsten’s conviction using illegal evidence.
        • SO it passed the “Edelsten Amendment” SO it could NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN.  HooleeDoolee Hannah!
      • OH AND SEE THIS DOOZY: No actual wrongdoings ever occurred, just hearsay
        • No wonder the government quickly brought in the “Edelsten Amendment” the corruption at that time in the 80s was rife, heads would have rolled!
    • Dr Geoffrey Edelsten was wrongfully removed as a doctor / medical practitioner due to the wrongful conviction (an automatic process that removes based on any conviction).
      • Juicy huh!! Didn’t I tell you Hannah Hempenstall !!  This is a career making story for the elite jorno that takes it on.
  • To enlighten you Hannah Hempenstall, Dr Edelsten worked hard, bloody hard, was innovative, and most especially he wanted to make healthcare accessible, like his flying doctor tenure, but of course you already know all about that.
    • So it became that he was successful through the 70s and 80s. He became a target, especially in the 80s.  And like with you Hannah Hempenstall and your article he remains a target, your sniping at him shows you are just another one of those blood suckers trying to get a piece, profit off the back of, or rub up or rub out Dr Edelsten.  Whatever happened to ethical journalism anyway? It seems like a dream. But is the answer laziness and money? More for Less?

Geoffrey Edelsten is one helluva character.

  • Hannah Hempenstall, maybe you meant ‘one hell of an individual’ or person or something like that?  Because if you ever met Dr Geoffrey Edelsten you would note immediately his character, ‘cautious and considered’ maybe closer to the mark.  “One helluva character” doesn’t seem to fit the mould. But goodonya Hannah Hempenstall.

On the one hand he’s a medical entrepreneur who made a fortune as co-owner of Allied Medical Group – Australia’s first bulk-billing medical centre.

  • Goodonya Hannah Hempenstall, trying to put together a quick sentence…while Dr Edelsten is a medical entrepreneur and yes he did sell his stake in Allied Medical Group you are missing some accuracy.  Allied Medical Group managed a number of medical centre’s (Trademark: Superclinic) also these particular Superclinics were not Australia’s first bulk billing medical centres, for this detail you might have to look beyond your easy access phone search tool and try the archives, you know, real work, something you may be allergic to. You’d have to go back to the 80s when the Hawke government was in power, but to give you a clue, yes, Dr Edelsten did start Australia’s first bulk billing centres back then.

On the other hand, despite Edelsten beginning his career as a medical doctor, in 1998 he lost his right to practice.

He’s been married 3 times – all to busty blondes and has a penchant for flamboyance.

  • Oh golly gosh Hannah Hempenstall, not going to get into this one, but will pick you up on one point; Leanne Nesbitt (Nee Leanne Edelsten), Dr Edelsten’s first wife, was she really busty?  What’s your reliable source here Hannah? And in your view, nay a general view, what level of bust constitutes busty? Goodonya Hannah.

Here’s everything you need to know about the most famous (for all the wrong reasons) Doctor in Australian history.

  • Gosh Dang It! Hannah Hempenstall you’ve done it again, really thought you were leading to all the “right reasons” for when you earlier mentioned “Geoffrey Edelsten is one helluva character.” and where you noted “he’s a medical entrepreneur” and “who made a fortune as co-owner of Allied Medical Group” and “Australia’s first bulk-billing medical centre” despite not being accurate but gosh dang it Hannah you did pen this…so was really lead on by you to think his fame is due to these things you mentioned.  But now you say the opposite, ok, let’s delve in, “(for all the wrong reasons)” according to you…

Geoff Edelsten with wife Gabi Grecko

How old is Geoffrey Edelsten?

Geoffrey Edelsten was born on 2 May 1943.

  • Slick copy paste Hannah Hempenstall. Not seeing a “wrong reason” though.

Where was Geoffrey Edelsten born?

Edelsten was born and grew up in the Melbourne suburb of Carlton. He was actually born opposite the Carlton Football ground at Princes Park.

  • Another one!?  Not a slick copy paste anymore Hannah, I think you are now avoiding the question, remember, “wrong reasons”..?

Who are Geoffrey Edelsten’s parents?

Geoff Edelsten’s parents are Hymie Edlesten (father, died 2007) and Esther Edelsten (mother, died 2016).

  • Ok Hannah Hempenstall, it’s fair to say, you’ve given up on the “everything you need to know about the most famous (for all the wrong reasons)” point you were trying to make earlier, it looks like you are just copy pasting stuff, and either adding your own inaccuracies or your plagiarism is copying/pasting the same errors.
    • Dr Edelsten’s mother died in 2014.  But goodonya Hannah Hempenstall, it’s great to see you are healthy, unethical, defamatory, biased, sniper, mercenary, plagiariser, but healthy wealthy and wise.  It’s a good thing superclinics / bulk billing medical centres have no prejudice, keeping people like you Hannah Hempenstall a picture of health!
      • And god knows we need more people like you Hannah Hempenstall.

How much is Geoffrey Edelsten worth?

Reports vary but Edelsten is said to be worth anywhere from AUD$64 million to $100million. However, he declared bankruptcy in the US in 2014 and settled his case in 2015.

  • UhOh Hannah Hempenstall, are you making a relatively positive statement to end with a negative and omitting detail to keep it biased? Looks like you arrrreeeeee..
  • Dr Edelsten was discharged from bankruptcy in the US in 2015, your no mention leads to the impression the bankruptcy in the US is current, not-o-so-true-o Hannah Hempenstall, but goodonya!

How did Geoffrey Edelsten make his money?

Edelsten made his fortune in 1971 by opening the first computerised pathology business in Australia with his colleague Tom Wenkart.

In the 80s he created another first. Edelsten was behind the first bulk billing medicine centres in Australia. Within 4 months of opening they were said to be treating 2000 patients per week.

  • Ohhhh Hannah, this is my favourite!!! This is where you and I (the writer of this response) get really close to each other!  And being the high class journo you are, you would have totally known about it too! Karma or the universe, meh, let’s just say I am worth plagarising.
    • To start with the obvious, this is “good reason” is it not?  Hm, I suppose it is best to keep looking for those “wrong reasons” you talk about…
    • But this was my own investigative research I did over 10 years ago, I put into Wikipedia myself to unbias the snipers in there like you Hannah Hempenstall.  And here you are copy/pasting me!! Oh I do feel important now, to have had an effect on your sniping article, character assassination article, whichever proud type of article you prefer to call it.. Hannah Hempenstall, you have included me in a weird but wonderful way. I am truly honoured and humbled

Geoffrey Edelsten and second wife Brynne

Is Geoffrey Edelsten currently married?

Geoff Edelsten split from third wife Gabi Grecko in April 2019 after they married in Melbourne in 2015.

According to the Daily Mail, Grecko, who now goes by the name of GLittA FoXX is dating hip hop artist Surf School Rico.

  • Like your 3 busty thing you said earlier Hannah Hempenstall, I’ll take a pass on comment on this for now.
  • Is it good?  Is it wrong? Well these were supposed to be your exhaustive list of “wrong reasons”, maybe you are trying to say something is wrong here? What is wrong Hannah Hempenstall?

How many times has Geoffrey Edelsten been married?

Edelsten has been married 3 times so far. His first wife, Leanne Nesbitt was 19 when she married Edlesten in 1984 (who was then 41). He married his second wife, Brynne Gordon in 2009 and they divorced in 2014 citing Edelsten’s extra marital relations as the cause for divorce.

  • I’m sure you are trying to say something is wrong here Hannah Hempenstall, not sure what it is though, please enlighten?
  • In any case there were no extra marital relations, as said so by Supreme Court Justice (VIC) Beech in approximately 2012.  This would be a great gossy WHO Rag article if it were the case, even true if it had happened, or even the thing you are most allergic to, evidence.  Alas no Hannah alas no..
  • Fun fact though; during the trial in the 80s, the then Leanne Edelsten ended up with Dr Edelsten’s lawyer.  Dr Edelsten went to jail for wrongful conviction for 1 year, 2x hearsay judgements of 6 months a piece. Leanne remarried the lawyer while Dr Edelsten was in jail.
    • The movie version of Dr Edelsten’s life and times are so much more juicy than the false version you bring here Hannah Hempenstall.

He’s also reported to have been a member of dating websites including sugardaddy.com.

  • Dr Edelsten has tried his hand at online dating, just like everyone else, or most, or a large amount of Australians, WHO does like to spin the dating goss, but dating is normal and online dating is not on a pedestal.  In fact, it is so enormous there is a dating site for just about every type of genre of dating. Is the norm as opposed to a genre or a type of dating even really normal? In a world of unique and individual are you pinning a prejudice here Hannah Hempenstall?
  • ANYWHOSA WHATSITS Hannah Hempenstall, Dr Edelsten has used a range of online dating services, it’s no secret, just the norm if you’re single..
    • But sadly for your gossy rag, he is not currently on any dating website and not for some considerable time, many years.

Does Geoffrey Edelsten have any children?

Edelsten has one son, Matthew Beard who as born in 1989. Unbeknown to Edelsten at the time, he only found out he had a son years later.

  • Another cut and paste Hannah, nothing original, no writing here by you, perhaps your pen license should be revoked.

Edlesten at a Swans game back in 1988

Does Geoffrey Edelsten still work?

As a lifelong entrepreneur, it’s likely that Edelsten will continue to turn his hand to any new projects that interest him.

  • Apart from your typo Hannah, which makes me giggle because you are the professional here, this part of your article is a waste of space.
    • May happen, may not, who can predict the future…

Is Geoffrey Edelsten a Doctor?

Edelsten attained a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery degree from Melbourne University in 1966. He was deregistered in 1988 for professional misconduct. He has yet to be relicensed.

Edelsten also holds a PhD in Philosophy which also makes him a doctor of philosophy.

Where did Geoffrey Edelsten study?

Edelsten got his medical degree at Melbourne University.

  • Oh geez Hannah Hempenstall, I’m sure you know where I’m going with this, a little bit more than Melbourne University, although Dr Edelsten is a proud alumni and could stop the list there, do please see the list of Uni’s above too.

Has Geoffrey Edelsten written any books?

Edelsten wrote a biography called Enigma (2011).

  • So many errors Hanna Hempenstall !!! What Uni did you go to?
  • No great research here for you Hannah but you still got it wrong, open an Enigma book, any should do, there you will find “first published in 2012”.  Hannah Opps Hempenstall.
  • Further, the book is part of the curriculum in medical schools in California, and perhaps other states in the USA too.  In the curriculum it is called “How to change a health care system”.

Does Geoffrey Edelsten own a football team?

Not any more, but Edelsten did purchase the Sydney Swans Football Club in 1986 for a reported $6.3 million, becoming the first private owner of the Sydney Swans. Years later he parted ways with the club.

  • Hannah Hempenstall your final point I was so looking forward to being accurate and “wrong reason”, you let us all down.  Anyway, it was 1985 not 86. But meh, don’t the facts always get in the way of a good old fashioned stitch up.

Hannah Hempenstall

Hannah Hempenstall is a writer, life coach and meditation practitioner based in the Byron Shire. She loves the art of storytelling and is obsessed with understanding human behaviour.

  • Let this article response be your guide, Bauer Media Group, this is what you are buying into, should your purchase of the WHO Magazine go ahead:
    • Hannah Hempenstall, do not trust her writing!  Do not trust a word she says!
    • Hannah Hempenstall, life coach uh oh, short in mind and inept in truth. Steer clear!
    • One big positive is you live in / around Byron Bay, Hannah this is your blessing and no doubt keeps you healthy and happy to maliciously snipe.  Byron is such a wonderful part of Australia but it seems cruel intentions lurk here within you..WHO would have known? Excuse the pun.
    • Hannah Hempenstall, yes you are a storyteller, a long-storyteller (like pinocchio), not a news teller, not a fact teller, not an informer, you are a miss-informer, this should be laid out at the beginning of your article, because the distribution of the WHO Rag goes through all the news outlets, it is believed as gospel.  But now, here, you say you are a storyteller, let’s all work together to get the word out before worst comes to worst and someone believes something you say.
    • LOL so funny! You say above you are “obsessed with understanding human behaviour”!  The glaring contradiction here is you didn’t even have contact with Dr Edelsten the subject of your snipe.  Gee willikers batman!
